The brewery was founded in 1883 (Meiji 16). Using their own homegrown rice, Yamada Nishiki, and traditional handcrafting techniques, they produced a renowned sake known for its rich body and aroma, yet with a clean, refreshing aftertaste. However, due to the owner's illness, the aging of the toji (master brewer), and the uncertain recovery of sake demand caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the brewery was forced to close at the end of November 2021.
