Kikukawa Brewery Company
Gifu
Founded in 1871 (Meiji 4).
Kikukawa Brewery was established in Unuma-juku, the 52nd post town along the historic Nakasendō route. For over 150 years, the brewery has continued its sake-making tradition in the same location.
In sake brewing, water, rice, and local climate are essential. Blessed with the pure waters of the Nagara River and committed to using only domestically grown rice, Kikukawa benefits from ideal conditions during the brewing season—cold winds known as "Ibuki Oroshi" blow through the region, and clear skies are common.
Making the most of these natural advantages, Kikukawa Brewery continues to brew its sake with great care, one day at a time.
