Morishima Brewery Company
Ibaraki
Morishima Brewery, located in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, is the closest sake brewery to the sea and has a history spanning over 150 years. On March 11, 2011, the brewery suffered significant damage due to the earthquake. This event led them to pursue their unique flavor. The result was a new taste profile described as 'a sake that complements meals without becoming tiresome, featuring a balanced acidity that stimulates the appetite.' Mr. Shoichiro stated, 'The earthquake left a lasting impact on my heart. I want people to experience the potential of sake's deliciousness alongside food and to offer something that surprises those who drink it.' The label features a design incorporating fragments of Oya stone from the stone warehouse that collapsed during the earthquake.
