Hakutaka Brewery Company
Hyogo
The name Hakutaka (White Hawk) is inspired by the symbolism of the hawk, considered the king of all birds. Among them, the white hawk is a mythical creature said to appear once in a thousand years, representing purity and nobility.
Combining this majestic image with the clarity of refined sake gave rise to the name Hakutaka.
Founded in 1862 by Etsuzō Tatsuuma in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture, Hakutaka Shuzō has pursued sake brewing of the highest quality under the guiding principle of “Quality First.”
Their enduring motto, "Tōri mono iwazaredomo, shita onozukara komichi wo nasu" (桃李不言下自成蹊), meaning “Peach and plum trees don’t speak, yet paths form beneath them naturally,” reflects the belief that true quality speaks for itself, drawing people through honesty and excellence.
With a legacy built on tradition, integrity, and refinement, Hakutaka continues to brew sake that quietly commands respect.
