Hachinohe Brewery Company
Aomori
In the 1740s (Genbun era), the first-generation Shozaburo Komai left his homeland of Omi with great ambition and began sake brewing in Mutsu. Since then, the brewery has been dedicated to crafting excellent sake for generations under the philosophy of “Ryoushu Ichinen” (a steadfast commitment to quality sake). Carrying on the dreams of his ancestors, the eighth-generation Shozaburo is now committed to brewing safe, delicious sake with consideration for the environment and health. Using Aomori’s local rice, water, and yeast, he has created a sake with a smooth texture, refreshing sweetness, and a crisp finish. Its fresh quality has gained popularity overseas, and in 2021, the brewery was ranked No.1 in the World Sake Brewery Ranking 2021.
