Niizawa Brewery Company
Miyagi
Niizawa Brewery, which has been producing sake for around 140 years in Osaki City, Miyagi, was severely damaged when the brewery was completely destroyed in the Great East Japan Earthquake. However, the swift response of President Iwao Niizawa led to the decision to relocate the production department in July 2011, and by November of the same year, sake production resumed in Kawasaki Town, located near the border of Yamagata Prefecture. Surrounded by the rich natural environment of the Zao Mountain Range and abundant underground water, the brewery benefits from an ideal setting for sake brewing. With fully upgraded facilities, the brewery is dedicated to producing high-quality sake every day. In 2018, they welcomed the youngest female toji (master brewer) in the country at the age of 22, who now guides the sake-making process with a focus on the customer's drinking experience. While maintaining high standards for sake quality for the domestic market, the brewery also exports to 17 countries.
