Yamatogawa Brewery Company
Fukushima
Since its founding in 1790, Yamatogawa Sake Brewery has been producing sake for nine generations. Using the pristine underground water of Mount Iide, the brewery has crafted renowned sakes such as Yauemon, driven by the dedication of its master brewers.
Early on, the brewery transitioned to high-quality, pesticide-free and reduced-pesticide sake rice, grown in its own fields and by contracted farmers. It has also expanded into agriculture, cultivating its own rice paddies and buckwheat fields.
As Japanese sake gains recognition worldwide, Yamatogawa has been a pioneer in international expansion, bringing Yauemon and Rashiku to markets in Taiwan, Hong Kong, the U.S., and beyond, where they have been highly praised. While preserving tradition, the brewery remains committed to taking on new challenges on a global scale.
