Toyokuni Brewery Company

Toyokuni Brewery Company

Fukushima

This brewery was founded in 1862 (Bunkyū 2) and is located in Aizubange, a renowned rice-producing area neighboring Aizuwakamatsu. It remains dedicated to traditional handcrafted brewing, using the funashibori (gentle pressing) method for all its sake, from standard to premium grades. With a commitment to respecting the natural characteristics of its ingredients, the brewery maintains a hands-on approach to sake-making. The flagship brand, Azumatoyokuni, upholds the traditions and heritage passed down since its founding. In 2011, a new brand, Ippongi, was introduced under the concept of "Tradition & Heritage + Modernity." With these two brands at its core, the brewery strives to balance the preservation of tradition with the evolving tastes of modern sake enthusiasts.
