Akita Meijo Brewery Company

Akita

Guided by our brand mission—"Sake that is loved by people, the land, and the future,"—we named our sake Ranman, wishing for each sip to bring warmth and joy. Founded over 100 years ago in Yuzawa City, Akita Meijo has remained deeply rooted in the local community. To support regional agriculture, we now cultivate sake rice in our own fields, aiming for a true domaine approach—overseeing the process from rice cultivation to brewing. Our junmai sake is crafted with Moeine rice, while our junmai daiginjo features Kanine rice, both grown in-house. Taking advantage of Akita’s cold climate, we use long-term low-temperature fermentation, allowing flavors to develop slowly for a rich and full-bodied taste.
