Morinokura Brewery Company

Morinokura Brewery Company

Fukuoka

Morinokura is known for its soft and smooth taste. Founded in 1898 by Yakutaro Morinaga, the brewery relocated to its current location in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture, in search of better water. We create sake that highlights local ingredients using soft water from the Chikugo River and locally grown rice, including Itoshima's Yamada Nishiki and Mizuma's Yume Ikkon. Since 2005, to stay true to the essence of sake, we have switched to producing only junmai sake, making us the first brewery in Kyushu to do so. This change allows us to express the rich flavors of rice and water in each of our sake varieties.
