Kanzaki Brewery Company
Hyogo
Kanzaki Brewery traces its roots back to 1875, when it began brewing sake under the name Okaniwa Shuzoten at the former site of the Saikoji Ginseng Office in the Himeji domain. It was the first brewery in the area to use sake rice from the Harima region. Though it temporarily ceased operations around the end of World War II due to government regulations during food shortages, the brewery was reborn post-war as Kanzaki Brewery through the merger of three local breweries.
Their signature sake, Manai no Tsuru, is inspired by a celestial maiden descending to a sacred spring known as “Manai.” Clean, refreshing, and graceful, it is crafted to be an easy-drinking sake—one that never tires, even for daily enjoyment.
In contrast, Ryuo no Mai—introduced in the Heisei era—is named after a traditional dance dedicated to the gods at harvest festivals in the Harima region. This sake is crisp and dry, ideal for festive gatherings, where the spirit of community is celebrated through shared cups and rich conversation.
