Tai Ishi Brewery Company

Tai Ishi Brewery Company

Okinawa

In 2024, Nanto Shuhan and Seifuku Shuzo took over Taikoku Shuzo, Okinawa's sole sake brewery, and began producing sake on Ishigaki Island. Ishigaki Island, home to the highest peak in Okinawa Prefecture, Mount Omoto, boasts abundant water resources and accounts for over half of the prefecture's rice cultivation. By preserving Okinawa's long-standing sake-making tradition and utilizing the island's unique water and rice terroir, they aim to offer distinctive Okinawan sake. Although it will take some time before the brewery opens, they are committed to crafting delicious sake.
