Founded in 1753 by a merchant from Ōmi (present-day Shiga Prefecture), this sake brewery has deep roots in Ibaraki. Today, it produces three main brands: Kyo no Yume, Ruri, and Fujiryu. Situated between the Kinugawa and Kokaigawa rivers, the brewery benefits from fertile rice-growing land and excellent brewing water—conditions that have supported its reputation as a beloved local sake producer since the Edo period.
