Sato Shuzoten Brewery Company

Sato Shuzoten Brewery Company

Akita

Founded in 1907 by Hisakichi Sato in Yajima Town, Yurihonjo City at the foot of Mt. Chokai, Sato Sake Brewery is located in an area known for its heavy snowfall and pristine climate—ideal conditions for sake brewing. Its signature label, Dewa no Fuji, takes its name from the majestic Mt. Chokai, which has long been referred to as “Dewa’s Mt. Fuji” due to its elegant silhouette and the region’s historical name, Dewa Province. Loved locally for its smooth taste and rich aroma, this sake has remained a local favorite in Yajima. The brewery still preserves traditional brewing tools that have been used since its founding, offering a tangible connection to its long-standing heritage.
