This junmai sake is brewed using only locally grown rice in Yamaguchi Prefecture, and is named after Kintai Bridge, one of the three most famous bridges in Japan. It has a soft, soft sake quality characteristic of soft-water brewing, with an elegant, subdued aroma and fine umami flavor, and a soft, light mouthfeel that is balanced and clear with a clean acidity. It is a well-balanced and clear sake that complements a wide range of dishes. It is ideally served cold or warmed. Warming it to lukewarm will give you more of the sweetness of the rice, and the acidity will become milder. The soft and smooth taste will make your cup of sake more enjoyable.

Yamaguchi

Founded in 1871, our brewery was established in a region blessed with the soft underground waters of the Nishikigawa River. The name 'Gokyo' was inspired by the graceful five-arched Kintai Bridge, symbolizing our desire to create a bridge between people through sake. With the refined senses and dedication of our brewers, we have earned the support of sake lovers not only in Yamaguchi Prefecture but across Japan. Gokyo sake is characterized by its soft, aromatic profile, a hallmark of brewing with pristine soft water.
