‘Kokki’ is the flagship brand of Kokki Sake Brewery, featuring an eye-catching label inspired by Kyoto’s Nishijin-ori textiles and the design of kimono belts. The character ‘暉’ means the brilliance of the sun. The name ‘Kokki’ embodies the philosophy that everyone shines like the sun, and aims to bring smiles to people’s faces through their sake. Kokki Sake Brewery was founded in 1874 in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. They carry on the traditional techniques of the Izumo Toji brewers, still using traditional tools like the ‘koshiki’ steamers and ‘fune’ presses to make their sake by hand. At the same time, they are committed to pursuing deliciousness through data and digital technology. As a result of these efforts, they rank 15th nationwide for the gold award winning rate in the National New Sake Competition over the past 20 years. They are highly regarded both domestically and internationally.
