Osawa Honke Shuzo Brewery Company

Hyogo

Osawa Honke Sake Brewery was founded in 1770. Among the Nada Gogo breweries heavily damaged by the Great Hanshin Earthquake, it is one of the few with a valuable wooden warehouse over 50 years old still standing. Using high-quality local ingredients such as Hyogo-grown Yamada Nishiki, the finest sake rice, and pure water, combined with the skilled techniques of the Nanbu Toji (master brewers), Osawa Honke produces its distinctive sake. Even in today's age of automation, the brewery remains committed to traditional methods, crafting each batch with care and dedication, much like nurturing a child, despite the harsh cold.
