Hatsukame Junmai Ginjo Beppin Karakara

Rating from Customers

3.3

"Kara" means "dry". With a sake meter value of +10, this high-quality, genuinely dry sake undergoes long-term low-temperature fermentation. Made with premium Yamada Nishiki rice from Tojo, the heartland of this renowned rice. The initial taste is soft and smooth, with a mellow richness. Its delicate aroma has hints of muscat. You might think it's not that dry at first, but it finishes cleanly and crisply, leaving no lingering aftertaste. This type of dry sake is quite rare.

Hatsukame Sake Brewery Company

Hatsukame Sake Brewery Company

Shizuoka

Founded in 1636, we originally established our brewery in what is now Shizuoka City, moving to our current location in Okabe Town in the early Meiji period. Okabe Town, known as one of the stations on the historic Tokaido Road, became famous for offering rest and refreshment to travelers, and our sake, Hatsukame, was cherished by many. Today, Okabe is also renowned for its high-quality gyokuro tea. Our sake brewing uses carefully selected ingredients such as Yamada Nishiki rice from Tojo, Hyogo Prefecture, and Gohyakumangoku and Oyama Nishiki rice from Nanto, Toyama Prefecture. We brew our sake using the pristine spring water from the Southern Alps that flows through our brewery. We prioritize quality over quantity, dedicating ourselves daily to the art of sake making for our customers.
