Kawabe Brewery was founded in 1945 through the merger of five local breweries in Inagawa, Kawanishi City, Hyogo Prefecture, under the government’s corporate integration policy. Their signature label, Hanagoromo—meaning "floral robe"—was named with the hope that the brand would bloom like the cherry blossoms along the Inagawa River and become a celebrated name in the world of sake. Although Kawabe Brewery no longer brews its own sake, its legacy continues through the skilled craftsmanship of Eigashima Shuzō, a prominent brewery in Nishinada, which now produces the Hanagoromo line with care and respect for its origins.
