Housui Brewery Company

Tokushima

Founded in 1913 (Taisho 2), Housui Shuzo in Miyoshi, Tokushima Prefecture, has a long history and is beloved for its flagship brand, "Housui." The name "Housui" reflects a wish to maintain the sake's aromatic quality and is also inspired by the Yoshino River, one of Japan's three major rivers, which flows near the brewery and was called "Housui" by the ancestors. Water is drawn from a well on the brewery’s premises for brewing, fed by underground streams from the Yoshino River. By polishing the sake rice to the maximum, they create a sake with a sharp, clean taste. "Housui" is known for its crisp finish, rich rice flavor, and elegant aroma. It has also won multiple gold medals at the National New Sake Awards, showcasing its quality.
