Rich, velvety sweetness with a burst of umami—this is a rare sweet sake from Kirei Shuzo, a brewery best known for its dry styles. Crafted with extraordinary care, this sake is made with an astonishing 89% koji, far beyond the usual 20–30%, resulting in a luxurious and labor-intensive brew. It offers a full-bodied sweetness and depth of flavor, balanced by a fresh, juicy character. Despite its richness, the high acidity gives it a clean, refreshing finish. A sweet sake that surprises with both intensity and elegance.

The name “Kirei” (meaning “Turtle’s Age”) was inspired by the Japanese proverb “Cranes live a thousand years, turtles live ten thousand,” symbolizing longevity and eternal prosperity. Originally known as “Yoshidaya no Sake” and cherished by customers for years, the sake was renamed “Kirei” in the early Meiji era by the head of the brewery, Kotaro Ishii since then, its refined taste has been passed down from person to person, captivating sake enthusiasts and maintaining its legacy of excellence.
