Hokkaido

Kamikawa Taisetsu Sake Brewery started brewing sake in 2016 to revitalize the region through sake. Using Hokkaido's sake brewing rice and locally harvested high-quality natural water as raw materials, the brewery produces locally produced sake to promote Hokkaido's regional brand to the rest of Japan and Made in Japan to the world. The "Tokachi" brand will be brewed at the Hekiun Brewery on the campus of Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine from 2020. The foundation of the "Tokachi" brand is a junmai sake, 70% polished rice, with a clean taste and little clutter, as is typical of Kamikawa Taisetsu.
