Founded in 1871, the brewery was completely destroyed and washed away by the massive tsunami during the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. In December 2012, they set up a temporary brewery in the Natori City Reconstruction Industrial Park and resumed sake production. About eight and a half years after the disaster, a new brewery was built in Yuriage, the original site of its founding. On October 1, 2019, 'Sake Day,' they celebrated their revival and continue to produce 'Takarabune Naminooto,' a sake that remains deeply connected to the local community.
