"Yukimegami" is a premium-grade sake rice developed as part of Yamagata Prefecture’s long-cherished dream to create their own top-tier variety. Its goal is to surpass "Yamada Nishiki," known as the king of sake rice. In fact, Yukimegami shares the same lineage as Yamada Nishiki. Following the release of Yamagata’s other original rice varieties—Dewasansan (for Junmai Ginjo) and Dewanosato (for Junmai)—Yukimegami was introduced to represent the highest class among them. As expected from a rice often used in sake competitions, the moment you open a bottle, a sweet, fruity aroma reminiscent of banana fills the air.
