Choryo Brewery Company

Nara

Located in the tranquil village by the Takadagawa River, known for its Sembonsakura cherry blossoms, Choryo Shuzo was established in 1963. The brewery is famous for its flagship product, Yoshino cedar barrel sake, and is recognized as the first in Japan to bottle barrel-aged sake. Around 2010, in response to changes in the sake industry, the brewery shifted to small-batch brewing with a focus on producing higher-quality sake. Today, they offer a range of premium sake, including Junmai and Junmai Ginjo varieties, highlighting the unique characteristics of sake rice.
