A true "All Iwate" sake — rice, yeast, and koji all sourced from Iwate Prefecture. Brewed with Toyonishiki rice, the locally developed "Yuko no Omoi" yeast, and the Iwate-original "Reimei Hiraizumi" koji, this is a sake that wears its region with pride. Originally released as a futsu-shu, it was discontinued in 2014 when the brewery transitioned fully to junmai brewing. Now it's back — reimagined as a junmai namazake nigori, with a fresh new identity and all the character of its origins intact. As a live, unpasteurized nigori, fermentation continues in the bottle. Please store it refrigerated at all times, and open with care — the pressure inside can send the cap flying, and the contents may overflow if not handled gently. The taste? Balanced, refined, and well worth every sip. Even if you picked it up just for the label, you won't be disappointed.

Kikuzakari Brewery Company

Kikuzakari Brewery Company

Iwate

Founded in 1894, our brewery is the sole sake brewery in Kitaami City, Iwate Prefecture. Despite facing damage from the Great East Japan Earthquake, including partial collapse of the brewery and complete destruction of the soy sauce brewery, we successfully raised funds through crowdfunding. Today, we continue to exclusively use locally grown rice from Iwate Prefecture to produce only Junmai-shu (pure rice sake).
