Founded in 1650, it is one of the oldest sake breweries in Japan. The brewery's location at an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters has also made it the "sake brewery closest to the stars in Japan." In addition to the local brand "Kisoji," the 16th generation Kurouemon brand of sake has begun to be sold nationwide. In recent years, the brand has gained considerable recognition, especially in Tokyo, and its high-grade sake brewing has been highly praised by many people.
