The name of this sake was chosen by Luca Gardini, an Italian sommelier who won the World Wide Sommelier Association award in 2010. In Italian, the name means “beautiful, clear, and refined.” Fittingly, this sake possesses a charm reminiscent of a French Burgundy Chardonnay. Like Chardonnay grown in rich clay soils, Yamadanishiki rice imparts depth and a subtle smoky minerality. Its crisp acidity enhances the refreshing character, while delicate buttery notes, reminiscent of barrel-aged wine, add further elegance.
