This dry sake can be enjoyed cold or warmed. The sake has a strong spiciness from the koji made from Yamada-Nishiki, and its crisp, structured flavor will keep you sipping. It is a perfect accompaniment to salted fish and other sake snacks, as well as to Japanese food such as simmered dishes with dashi (Japanese soup stock), which gives it depth of flavor.

Kita Shuzo Company (Kirakucho)

Shiga

In 1820, Ginzaemon Kita established our brewery on the Koto plain in Ohmi. Ginzaemon procured Ohmi-brand rice from nearby farmers, crafted sake, and engaged in local commerce. Initially, our brand was known as “Temmaya.” Over two centuries, the Kita family has upheld the tradition of sake brewing. Our current brand name, “Kirakucho,” conveys our wish for customers to savor our sake and lead long, fulfilling lives.
