America's 'Umami Mart' flagship sake is crafted at Kita Sake Brewery in Shiga Prefecture, Japan. Kita Shuzo boasts an extended koji cultivation period of up to 50 hours, surpassing the typical 40 hours, to enhance the richness and abundant UMAMI – voila! With a blend of umami and acidity, explore a diverse array of flavors and textures. Experience hints of grapeskin in the aroma, a creamy mouthfeel, and a crisp, clean finish. Pair it with cheese, rib eye steak, yakitori, shellfish, or pasta for a delightful culinary experience.

Kita Shuzo Company (Kirakucho)

Shiga

In 1820, Ginzaemon Kita established our brewery on the Koto plain in Ohmi. Ginzaemon procured Ohmi-brand rice from nearby farmers, crafted sake, and engaged in local commerce. Initially, our brand was known as “Temmaya.” Over two centuries, the Kita family has upheld the tradition of sake brewing. Our current brand name, “Kirakucho,” conveys our wish for customers to savor our sake and lead long, fulfilling lives.
